Think about a Jig Saw puzzle. A thousand colorful individual pieces spread over your dining room table. There are different shapes, a palate of primary colors mixed with a multitude of unique hues. The individual pieces without a picture make absolutely no sense.

The box cover (your God given vision) shows a beautiful lake, surrounded by colorful trees under a sky with a few cumulus clouds. The 1000 individual pieces are simply waiting to be put together.

The challenge is similar to that faced by leaders all across our nation. You have people with skills, interests, expectations, talents, resources and spiritual gifts. The question is how to fit all the individual pieces together to make the whole according to God’s plan.

The individual pieces without a picture make absolutely no sense. That’s your church without a vision. However, when you have the picture, you can find pieces of similar color and design that fit together.

God gave Moses and his people, estimated to be one million strong, a long term vision of a Promised Land. A land of plenty. A land to live and worship in peace.  God also gave his people a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide them toward the Vision.

We are no different today. As individuals, families and teams, a future vision is essential. It gives all of us hope during difficult times of stress and a monitor of daily accomplishment.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:18-19 NIV)

You have the gifts that God intended you to have. Let’s do it together.
