Laurie KennedyJethro Group recognizes October as Pastor Appreciation Month

I love working with Pastors. It is awesome to watch our Lord work with Pastors and Leaders moving a church from challenge to health.

We need to care for our Pastors on a continual basis. Note the following ideas. Pick one to demonstrate your appreciation for your Pastor and encourage a friend to do the same.

  • It seems simple, but during Sunday morning service, smile, listen and enjoy the service.
  • This month buy a gift card for your Pastor to have a meal out with his family.
  • Let people know that you are on side with your Pastor and encourage others to be positive.
  • Be sure to tell your kids how much you appreciate and respect your Pastor.
  • Don’t criticize, gossip or complain.
  • Offer to babysit so that your Pastoral Couple can really have a date night out.
  • When another wants to gossip about your Pastor and family, encourage them to stop.
  • Are you a teenager?  Offer to wash your Pastors car for him.
  • Pick up tickets to his favorite sport event and give them to him,
  • Be sure to tithe and be actively involved in your church.
  • Tell your Pastor that you appreciate him and value what he teaches you and your family.
  • Ask your Pastor how you can volunteer.
  • Make a card, drop it off at the church, just because you care.
  • Read a Ministry related book, call and give him a short overview, then offer to lend it to him.
  • Be friendly and know that your Pastor’s spouse has a very unique and challenging role.
  • Talk to your church Treasurer or Board Chair to be sure your Pastor has the appropriate salary and benefit package.

Leadership is ensuring your Ministry Staff are appreciated, respected and supported.
