Laurie Kennedy“We are in a crisis of leadership. While the problems of the world continue to press in on our society, there is a growing distrust of leaders. The solution to many of our problems rests with our leadership, but our people often no longer trust those who have authority. (Designed to Lead by Eric Greiger and Kevin Peck)

I’m a Christian leader, an active member of my local church. I love the role God has designed for me. Yet, with the significant challenges in our world, we all sometimes wonder what we can do individually to impact our world for Christ. My church has a culture, (the way we do it around here). That culture, influences our community our country and our world.

“A failure to equip people for ministry results in an unhealthy church. A lack of conviction for equipping results in an immature body of believers.” Further, “The primary purpose for our leadership mandate is to make known the glory of God by leading others to flourish to God’s design. (Eric Geiger and Kevin Peck tell us in Designed to Lead)

The research suggests, we, “… will meet ten thousand people in their (our) lifetime. That’s a lot of folks, But, if every one of you (us) changed the lives of just ten people, and each one of those folks changed the lives of another ten – then in five generations 125 years … (we) will have changed the lives of 800 million people.” (Make your Bed, Admiral William H. McRaven)

“So our churches must apply Scripture to leading in every sphere, because God sends us there every week. (Designed to Lead)

Christ gave us a direction. “So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also out to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example that you also should do just as I have done for you.” (John 13:14-15) “Go ye into all the world”

Leadership is … influencing our world, one person at a time to stand for Christ.
