Laurie Kennedy“Character is the most powerful force a leader can possess because it protects his life, his leadership, and his legacy-it manifests who he is and shapes who he will become.” (Myles Munroe, The Power of Character in Leadership)

Your internal character guides all your decisions, plans and dreams propelling your words, actions and decisions throughout your life.

Low character employees who are actively disengaged from their jobs cost U.S. businesses between $450 and $550 billion per year. The median loss due to fraud is $145,000; 22 percent of cases involve losses of at least $1 million. Workplace violence costs businesses an estimated $36 billion a year and affects over 2 million Americans. (State of the American Workforce) The typical business or not for profit organization loses 5 percent of revenue each year to fraud. (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners)

High-character employees have an amazingly positive influence on their church, mission and business organizations. They are consistently loyal, making coming to work a positive experience for everyone. Employee morale improves at all levels. The positive thinking and living individuals contribute significantly to the organization’s financial health with high productivity and extremely positive relationships with staff, clients and customers. They are loyal to their employers, offer to do extra work and welcome training opportunities. They advance the organization’s Vision, Mission and Values. They reflect well on the company and promote it with positive word-of-mouth. They are consistently honest and are accountable to the organization, their staff and customers. They care for other staff while encouraging family and friends to be involved.  Their decisions are fair, they are humble, give credit to others, are patient and their presence improves team work.

“In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility”. (Titus 2:7 KJV)

Leadership is putting character front and center in our thinking about our business and church life.
