Laurie KennedyPastor Appreciation month is recognized at the Jethro Group.

I love working with Pastors. I coach some, consult with others and teach Board Leaders. My prayer is for our Pastors, Churches and leaders to have a healthy relationship with our Heavenly Father, with each other while demonstrating God’s love to our world. We need to care for our Pastors. They carry their own challenges as well as ours.

This October, we’ll introduce 35 ideas to help you encourage your Ministry staff. Review these and then implement those that work for you to show your appreciation for your Pastor. These very simple acts of appreciation will stimulate and encourage the health of our Pastors and churches.

  • Pray for your pastor.
  • It seems really simple and it is. Smile and listen to show that you are enjoying your weekend services.
  • Buy a gift card for your Pastor to have a meal out with his family
  • Take ninety seconds today to email a specific note of appreciation to your Pastor. Thank him for something that was shared the previous Sunday.  This is not the time to disagree or remind him about your favorite verse. Just say thanks.
  • Defend your pastor when someone complains.
  • Speak well of your pastor
  • Talk about what you learned from your pastor with your kids.
  • Encourage your pastor’s spouse.
  • Pick up a box of cupcakes and drop them off at the church.
  • Next time you are in a conversation, listen and really listen to what your Pastor says.

“Appreciate your Pastoral Leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness.” (Hebrews 13:7 MSG)

Leadership is ensuring your Ministry Staff are appreciated, respected and supported.
